Xpu-ha Palace Resort has an estuary (el estero) where kayaking and introduction to scuba diving lessons are held. The water in the estuary is an incredible emerald blue-green that no photo can hope to reproduce. You really do have to see it to believe it.

At a depth of roughly 20 feet, it is the ideal venue for learning to scuba dive in a sheltered natural environment.
