Cancun
offers an abundance of fun in the sun activities and
lots of nightlife, too. If you stay at an all-inclusive
resort, you will likely find something to keep you active
around-the-clock. But even if your resort seems to have
everything you need for your vacation, you shouldn't
miss Cancun's nightclubs, bars, and restaurants, such
as Pat O'Brien's, Margaritaville, Planet Hollywood,
and the Hard Rock Cafe. There are also lots of tours
and opportunities for fun in the Riviera Maya and nearby
Isla Mujeres. Here's a sampling.

idea of costs. They were correct in early 2008 when

Treats
Snorkel
with Whales Sharks - North of Cancun is Isla
Holbox (hoh-baash) where whale sharks (dominos)
school from June through September. These 15 to 50 foot
long giant vegetarians allow visitors to swim along
side them as they forage plankton from warm surface
waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Since the Mexican government
limits access, you will need to join a tour with a local
guide. It's best to go early in the day to avoid the
afternoon heat and possible storms.
There are several way to get to Isla Holbox.
- Rent a car and drive to Chiquila on the coast opposite
the island. Then take a boat across the lagoon to
Isla Holbox. Then make your own arrangements to see
whale sharks.
- Take a guided tour that includes pickup from your
hotel in Cancun, Riviera Maya, or Cozumel, road transportation
in luxury van to Chiquila and back to your hotel,
boat transport (all permits and insurance current)
with guides certified for the whale shark search,
dolphin and stingray school observation, snorkel equipment,
